Tucked away between rolling fields, whispering grasslands, and gently flowing waters lies the little town of Napier, a place where creativity slows down, breathes deeply, and comes to life one stitch at a time.
Surrounded by nature, animals, and the simple beauty of country living, every creation we make carries a piece of the world around us. From the colours of blooming gardens to the warmth of a close-knit community, inspiration is woven into every thread, fabric, and handmade detail. Here, craftsmanship is more than just making products, it’s about creating something filled with comfort, character, and heart.
Where it began
The journey started long before we ever arrived in Napier, with my hands buried deep inside Pandora’s box for most of my life. Paintings, colouring books, mosaic art, construction, children’s clothing designs, and of course, a little sewing stitched in between it all.
The hustle and bustle of city life never quite fit our little family of four, Adam, Taine, Caylie, and myself. So when the road led us to Napier, moving felt natural… or at least as natural as packing your whole life into boxes can feel.
Once we arrived, life seemed to exhale. Everything slowed down. Our roots settled into what felt like the most fertile patch of land in all of South Africa. Ducks wandered through the garden, chickens claimed the yard as their kingdom, and tomato plants, spinach, and all sorts of life seemed to appear out of nowhere. And somewhere amongst all that beautiful chaos, sewing quietly found its way back to me again.
Love at first stitch
Once people heard I was sewing the work began with kindness arriving at our doorstep in bags and boxes. Donations from local families and companies filled our home with forgotten jackets, worn blankets, old denim, and fabric stitched with memories from lives once lived. Where someone saw old material, we saw possibility.
Jackets became pillows Pants into puppy toys. Blankets transformed into warm dog beds. Piece by piece, thread by thread, something beautiful started happening inside Carins Creative Sewing room.
Then, almost by chance or perhaps the will of a creative. Shiloh Dolls was born. After many late nights, countless test designs, and fabric scattered across every corner imaginable, a doll slowly came to life that felt truly special.
Not just a toy, something softer. Something meaningful. A handcrafted companion designed to bring warmth into homes, character onto shelves, and comfort into the hands of children. A doll created with the hope of bringing love, safety, imagination, and a little piece of heart back into everyday life.
The Cause
With every purchase, 10% is donated to a local animal shelter because giving back has always been stitched into the heart of what we do. We have always had animals close to our hearts.
As the idea continues to grow, so does the love we pour into it. Every product we create carries a story, a second chance, and a little piece of home with it.
